Report: March 1

Our new Assistant Project Manager, Danny Plyler, has been a driving force in the organization and execution of a number of complex tasks that have presented themselves as more trees find their way in the ground.

From checking replacement trees to planting new ones, this project calls for adaptability and innovation, both of which Danny brings to the table as the pieces on the board keep moving.

With Spring showers well underway, we have had a number of ‘washouts’. These situations are where flooding rainfalls make the conditions for planting more difficult than normal.

Even so, our deliveries held up and nothing was inhibited with our operational structure!

Go team!

Our partners at Louisville Grows did some work with residential partners on 3rd Street and Whitney Avenue to green frontyards, backyards, and even alleyways!

Our other partner Carl Ray Nursery worked on irrigation, soiling, mulching, and planting plans to account for gaps along the rest of the Watterson Expressway.

Our team banded together and pushed through hours of coordination to direct further phases of the operation, conduct the ordering of more trees, and identify planting locations among a number of new developments as the project moves closer and closer to completion.

The joint team of GS2, Carl Ray, Louisville Grows, Zeppa, and UofL understands the critical importance of logistics and made this a priority to ensure the continuation of smooth execution well into the future.
