Green Heart Leadership, including the driving force behind the project; University of Louisville’s Envirome Institute director Dr. Aruni Bhatnagar, took a driving tour while discussing the future of the project.

The group was able to observe progress along residential areas and the Watterson and see the tangible results of this effort in action.

Our partners at Carl Ray unloaded phase 2 tree deliveries at our staging area at Bicknell.

You can see various equipment that we have at our disposal moving the trees, prepping soil and mulch for planting, and organizing the transfer of the trees to other modes of transportation to get them to their final planting sites.

Our partner Louisville Grows can be seen planting a residential partner on Woodlawn Avenue.

Recent rainfall created some flooding and some invasive tree species were identified. The invasive trees are being cut away by our partner Carl Ray once our own trees are planted in the area.

Finally, a number of trees were received for planting at Olmstead. You can see how large the root balls of the tree are in comparison to GS2’s own Assistant Project Manager, Danny Plyler.

Our partners at LG planted a residential partner on Brentwood and 3 more loads arrived at our Bicknell staging area for further distribution in the area!
